Social Media / Copywriter Freelance-to-Perm Contract

Position: Social Media & Digital Content Officer / Copywriter

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6-8 weeks with a view to perm
Hours: 24-28 hours p/w (3-4 days/week)
Location: Hybrid - Camperdown office / at home

 

Social Media (50-60% of the workload)

- Executing a paid social media calendar, aligned to our broader communication and marketing objectives

- Coordinating a full funnel paid social media approach that builds awareness of the brand while driving users to convert – focused on acquisition and engagement

- Delivering the organic social content calendar, crafting high-impact posts, monitoring engagement and managing live interaction (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).

- Assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting on paid and organic social performance

 

Copywriting & Digital Content

- Writing, editing, and proofreading promotional material and publications that contribute to our fundraising brand’s strategic goals

- Using CMS to create new digital content on websites, developing SEO through metadata input, and content marketing stories (under direction) to help drive our digital strategy

- Updating both websites, with latest news, information and educational material on a regular basis (using WordPress and Funraisin)

 

Occasional Tasks:

- eDM - Creating email marketing newsletters, recording key metrics and managing reporting databases
- Design - Contributing to the design of social media graphics, web assets, and editing smaller marketing materials (experience of Adobe Creative Suite would be useful)

 

Specification

Essential
- Great attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience in paid social media campaign development, implementation, and reporting
- Strong understanding of, and experience in community management, social media marketing and content
- Experience of working with social media management software
- Experience of editing web content using CMS (preferably WordPress)
- Highly organised, self-motivated, reliable, and trustworthy
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office

 

Desirable
- A qualification in social or digital media, communications, marketing, advertising, media, journalism or related discipline
- An interest in design and/or exposure to software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator)
- An interest and/or experience in video editing
- Flexible and available to work on site work from our Sydney (Camperdown) office
